Cecile M Goble's Obituary
Cecile M. Goble, 95, of Westfield, Illinois passed away at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at Casey Health Care Center in Casey, Illinois. She was born April 4, 1913 in Cleone, Illinois, the daughter of Steward Lawson Gilbert and Pauline Estee Burdette Gilbert. Survivors include son, Stuart Davis and wife Lois of Marion, OH; son, Jeffrey Davis and wife Margaret of Westfield, IL; brother, Rowland Gilbert and wife Bay of Martinsville, IL, grandchildren, Jeffrey G. Davis and wife Heather of Alliance, OH; Lori Kious and husband Bob of Mattoon, IL; Matthew Davis and wife Tracy of Hollywood, FL; Tami Babbs and husband Kent of Westfield, IL, Kim Evans and husband Tom of Westfield, IL; Jon Davis and wife Susanne of Oak Harbor, WA; twelve great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Her parents, brother, Charles Gilbert and sister, Maxine Merrick preceded her in death. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2008 at the Westfield United Methodist Church in Westfield, Illinois with Rev. Charles Shelquist officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the Markwell Chapel in Westfield, Illinois. Mrs. Goble taught in the Cumberland and Westfield areas and retired after thirty-six years of teaching. She was a member of the Westfield United Methodist Church, Retired Teachers of Clark County Association and Order of the Eastern Star.
