Burton Dale Cooper's Obituary
Burton Dale Cooper, 78, of Casey, Illinois passed away at 1:15 a.m. EST on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at Brownsburg Meadows, Brownsburg, Indiana. He was born April 18, 1929 in West Union, Illinois the son of Dean Delmas Cooper and Alma Irene Freeman Cooper. On June 24, 1955 he married Marjorie Coulter in Oblong, Illinois; she passed away on June 9, 1987. Survivors include his daughter, Cyndy Burnett and husband Scott of Brownsburg, IN. His parents, wife, and sister Geneva Reed preceded him. Burton retired in 1986 from Marathon Oil Co. with the Pipeline Division, where he had worked as an Electrician and Corrosion Technician. He was a US Navy Korean Conflict veteran. He was a member of the Casey United Methodist Church, the Casey VFW Post #5762, the Casey Moose Lodge and the Casey Masonic Lodge. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. CST on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, Illinois with Dr. Penelope Barber officiating. Burial will be in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery with Military Rites by the Casey VFW Post #5762 and Hazel Dell American Legion Post #1230. Visitation will be held from 12 - 2 p.m. CST on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
