Brenda Lucille Newlin's Obituary
Brenda Lucille Newlin, 59, of Casey, IL passed away at 7:17 p.m. on Friday, February 4, 2011 at Regional Hospital, Terre Haute, IN. She was born September 24, 1951 in Terre Haute, IN, the daughter of Henry Dewayne Newlin and Delma Lucille O'Dell Newlin. Survivors include her mother, Lucille Newlin of Casey, IL; brother, Daniel Newlin and wife Kandy of Baytown, TX; sister, Alma Byrd of Effingham, IL; nieces, Jessica Newlin Beaumont and husband Craig of Greenup, IL; Jackie Candela and husband Kevin of Godfrey, IL and Kristi Byrd of St. Louis, MO; nephews, Ryan Newlin of Casey, IL and Steve Byrd and wife Helen of Corpus Christi, TX and five great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father. Brenda was a graduate of Casey High School and Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelor and Masters degree in Education. She previously worked as an elementary teacher in Illinois and in Missouri. She also worked in the Martinsville High School Library in the late 1980s. Brenda was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Casey, IL. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, February 7, 2011 at the Casey First Christian Church with Rev. Dan Ledley and Rev. Dana Zartman officiating. Burial will follow in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at the First Christian Church, 200 SE Eighth St., Casey, IL 62420.
