Bobbie Gene Jones, 85, of Casey, Illinois passed away at 6:40 a.m. on Friday, July 4, 2008 at Heartland Manor Nursing Home, Casey, Illinois. He was born February 28, 1923, the son of William Wesley Jones and Ollie Justice Jones. On May 12, 1944, he married Roberta F. Cougill Jones. She passed away on January 14, 1998. Survivors include son, Larry Jones and wife Donna of Casey, IL; daughter, Jo Anne Hires of Fisher, IL; daughter, Joyce McDaniel and husband John of Champaign, IL; sister, Kathleen Laymon of Casey, IL; sister, Pauline Sutherland of Greenup, IL; grandson, Steve Jones and wife Angie of Effingham, IL; grandson, Michael Hires and wife Kris of Fisher, IL; granddaughter, Lora Jones of Champaign, IL; granddaughter, Jennifer Arevalo and husband Frank of Chicago, IL; great grandchildren, Aaron Hires of Rantoul, IL; Hannah Hires of Rantoul, IL; Jordan Jones of Effingham, IL; Payton Jones of Effingham, IL and Emery Arevalo of Chicago, IL. His parents, wife, five brothers, two sisters, grandson, Brian Jones and great grandson, Adam Arevalo preceded him in death. Bob was a retired farmer and a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church, Casey, IL. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 7, 2008 at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, IL with Rev. Marvin Oakley officiating. Burial will be in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 - 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial donation and contributions may be made to the Macedonia Baptist Church, 1075 Co. Rd. 2400 E., Casey, IL 62420.
