Blanche L Gates' Obituary
Blanche L. Gates, 92, of Casey, IL formerly of Paris, IL passed away at 11:07 p.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Casey Health Care Center, Casey, IL. She was born June 24, 1919, in Paris, IL, the daughter of Edward C. Butler and Oather Elizabeth McIntosh Butler. On January 30, 1941, she married Delbert C. Gates in Paris, IL. He passed away on October 18, 2005. Survivors include her daughter, Connie J. Gard of Casey, IL; grandchildren, Becky (Richard) Arrasmith of Chrisman, IL; John (Suzanne) Hoult of Casey, IL; Shelly (Todd) Sawyer of Charleston, IL; great grandchildren, Katie (Jason) Goble, Joey Hoult, Jake Hoult, Jesse Corbin, Matt (Michele) Smith, Luke (Maranda) Smith, Samantha Smith, Whitney Thomason and Lacey Thomason and seven great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Earl, Dutch, Pete, Frank and Glen Butler; sister, Nellie Butler and son in law, James H. Gard. Mrs. Gates was a lifelong resident of Paris, IL. She was a wonderful cook, seamstress and enjoyed flowers. She had previously worked for TRW in Marshall, IL; Zenith in Paris, IL and the Goding Shoe Factory in Paris, IL. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, IL with Rev. Ron Juenger officiating. Burial will follow in the Edgar Cemetery, Paris, IL. Visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m. prior to the service on Wednesday at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central; Ave., Casey, IL. Memorial donations and contributions may be made to Kathy's Dream (Alzheimer's Garden) c/o Casey Health Care Center, 100 NE 15th St., Casey, IL 62420.
