Billy Jean Johnson's Obituary
Billy Jean Johnson, age 76, of Cobden, died on Wednesday, September 21, 2005 at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 23, 2005 at the Lutz & Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Roy Hill officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2005 and prior to the service. Burial will be in the Casper Cemetery north of Anna with military rites performed by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the VFW. He was born June 18, 1929 in Ware, IL, the son of Thomas Jefferson and Grace Meisenheimer Johnson. He married Claudia M. Dillow on June 10, 1950 in Piggott, AK; she survives. He was retired from Caterpillar in Joliet and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jonesboro. He served his country during the Korean Conflict in the US Army. He was a member of the Anna Masonic Lodge #520 AF & AM and the Machinist Local #851 in Joliet. Surviving are his wife. Claudia, of Cobden, six children, Billy J. Johnson, Jr. of Brian's Berg, KY, Ben Johnson and wife Anna of Cobden, Janey Jones and husband Michael of Joliet, Harry Johnson and wife Lisa of Wilmington, IL, Rebecca Winchester and husband Philip of Casey, and James Johnson and wife Toni of Channahon, IL, brother Harry Johnson of Anna, sister Neda Jackson of Ware, 18 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother Blanche Johnson, granddaughter Brandie Kay Johnson and a sister. Memorials may be made to the Sunshine Inn Senior Citizens Center in Anna.
