Beverly Jeanne Young's Obituary
Beverly Jeanne Young, age 77, of Westfield, IL passed away at 6 a.m. on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Willow Breeze Hospice House, Mattoon, IL with her husband by her side.
Beverly was born August 11, 1947 in Hutton Township, IL the daughter of Clayton Eugene and Emma Jean (Goble) Davis. On December 23, 1966 she married Alan Young in Westfield, IL.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Alan Young of Westfield, IL; children, Brent Young (Michelle) and Peggy Brewer (Brian) both of Westfield, IL; grandchildren, Andrew Young, Maeve Fitzgerald (Kat Kehoe), Clayton Young (Max Deremiah), Lindsey Brewer (Kris Kimball), McKenzie Justice (Trevor) and Emma Brewer (Devon Burkybile); great grandchildren, Raegan Brewer, Matthew Justice and Michael Justice and sisters, Linda Anderson and Joanna Thompson, both of Casey, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Emma Jean Davis and her brother, Charles Davis.
Beverly was a 1965 graduate of Westfield High School. She operated Young 's Greenhouses during the 1970 's and operated a day care during the 1980 's. For over 25 years, she worked alongside her husband and son in their cabinet shop, The Wood Works. Beverly enjoyed working in her vast flower beds surrounding her home. She was always shopping for more unique flowers to add to her beautiful beds. Beverly and Alan enjoyed antiquing and especially enjoyed collecting vintage Christmas ornaments and cat pottery. Together they also enjoyed their time spent helping with the Maple Hill Cemetery Committee.
Private inurnment will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery, Westfield, IL. A gathering for family and friends to celebrate her life will be held at a later date.
