Beulah Mae "Perisho" Melton's Obituary
Beulah Mae (Perisho) Melton, 87, of Charleston, IL formerly of Union Center, IL passed away at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, July 22, 2011 at Casey Health Care Center in Casey, IL. She was born October 7, 1923 in Casey, IL, the daughter of Forrest E. Perisho and Grace F. Erwin Perisho. On February 27, 1945 she married Joseph Floyd "Spivy" Melton in Toledo, IL. He passed away on May 23, 2007. Survivors include sisters, Virginia Morris of Arthur, IL; Doris (Junior) Devall of Greenup, IL; Norma (Paul) Keys of Shoals, IN and Mary (Rev. Bill) Breidenbaugh of Otwell, IN; sisters in law, Imogene (Ronnie) Adams of Casey, IL and Barb Perisho of Marshall, IL; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Herbert (Rosetta) Perisho and sisters, Bernice (Wayne) Melton and Wanetia (Harold) Watters; niece, Dolores Grubb; nephew, Tracy Perisho and great nephew, Stephen Teil Gutheridge. Mrs. Melton was a member of the Nebo First Separate Baptist Church of Union Twp., Cumberland Co., IL, where she played the piano for many years and was a Sunday School Teacher. She worked at Perisho Meat Locker in Casey, IL and was a lifelong farmers wife. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, IL with Bro. Billie Ray Ulrey officiating. Burial will follow in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial donations and contributions may be made to Brookstone Estates (Bird Feeding Fund), 300 Lincoln Hwy., Charleston, IL 61920.
