Beulah Verliegh Briggs' Obituary
Beulah Verliegh Briggs, 84, of Casey, died at 1:15 p.m Friday, October 5, 2007, at Heartland Manor Nursing Center in Casey, IL. Beulah was born February 2, 1923, in Casey, IL, daughter of Guy Ruley and Dessie M. Kline Ruley Hepner. She married Lionel E. Briggs on October 5, 1940 in St. Charles, MO; he preceded her in death on October 5, 1996. Survivors include three daughters, Connie Crutchfield and husband Gordon of Martinsville, IL, Marlene Watts and husband Billy of Casey, IL and Sherri Perry of Gastonia, NC; a sister, Marjorie Hart and husband Walter of Robinson, IL; six grandchildren, Todd Crutchfield and wife Brooke, Tammee Jones and husband Wayne, Tycee Sasso and husband Brian, Kandy Jurumbo and husband Brian, Korey Montgomery and fiancee Billie Jean Hill and Melissa Montgomery and fiancee Phillip Bean; 18 great-grandchildren, Blade, Drake, Stone, Sia and Kia Crutchfield, Brock and Baylee Jones, Sage and Porter Sasso, Katelyn Montgomery, Bria Jurumbo, Dakota, Jasmine, Korey and Raven Montgomery, Dante, Jalen and Brookelyn Montgomery. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one great-grandchild, Korey Michael Montgomery. Mrs. Briggs was formerly employed at the Casey Shoe Factory, TRW, as a C.N.A. and worked in housekeeping for Heartland Manor Nursing Center for 14 years. She was a member of the Casey White Oak Church of God. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 9, at the Markwell Funeral Home, in Casey, with the Reverend Kenny Inman officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, October 8, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Washington Street Cemetery. Memorial tributes may be sent to the family at www.markwellfuneralhome.com.
