Betty Margaret Norton's Obituary
Betty Margaret Norton, age 90, of Casey, IL passed away at 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Robinson Rehab and Healthcare Center, Robinson, IL. She was born March 22, 1933 in Douglas County, IL, the daughter of Lester Weaver and Thelma M. (McKinney) Weaver. On September 4, 1953 she married Carl Dale Norton in Casey, IL; he passed away on December 30, 1980.
Survivors include her children, Roger Norton of Casey, IL, Cindi Norton Williams of Tolono, IL and Judy Norton Bruner (Steve) of Robinson, IL; grandchildren, Alex Bruner (Taylor), Allan Presnell, Zach Bruner (Cadie Pepple) and Shelby Kennel (David); and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Leland Weaver.
Betty was a 1951 graduate of Martinsville High School. She worked as an assistant librarian at Casey Township Library for many years. Betty enjoyed reading mysteries, crocheting, cross-stitch, and hummingbirds. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A memorial visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.
