Betty Y Davis' Obituary
Betty Y. Davis, 71, of Westfield, Illinois, passed away at 3:55 a.m. on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Cumberland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Greenup, Illinois. She was born on September 26, 1938 in Moriah, Illinois, the daughter of Lloyd Preston Ross and Marie Montgomery Ross. On October 14, 1956 in Westfield, Illinois, she married Dayne Ellery Davis. He preceded her in death on April 24, 1999. Survivors include her daughters, Cindy Mills and husband Donnie of Lerna, IL and Brenda Gilbert and husband Rick of Martinsville, IL; mother, Marie Ross of Westfield, IL; brother, Doit Ross and wife Laura of Minooka, IL; eight sisters-in-law, four brothers-in-law, grandchildren, Dawn (Kevin), Steward, Dana, Wes (Sheila) and Sandy (John), five great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father and husband. Betty was a homemaker and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a board member of the Green Moss Church and Cemetery. She was a member of the Clarksville Home Extension and a member of the Congregational Church of Marshall, IL. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at the Greenwell Funeral Home, Martinsville, IL with Revs. Bob Thompson and Dana Zartman officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, June 28, 2010 at the funeral home. Memorial donations and contributions may be made to the Green Moss Cemetery, c/o Dale Walters, 19202 N.
