Betty Lou Cox's Obituary
Betty Lou Cox, age 78, of Westfield, formerly of Danville, died on Saturday, October 8, 2005 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday,October 11, 2005 at the Markwell Chapel in Westfield with Pastor Cathy Minor officiating. Visitation will be held from 12 to 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the Chapel and burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery. She was born February 23, 1927 in Grandview, IL the daughter of Marion Elisha and Hazel Menk Clapp. She married Arnol S. Cox on September 3, 1955 in Marshall; he preceded her in death on December 5, 1981. She worked as a housekeeper at the Sheraton Inn in Danville for over 20 years and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Westfield. Surviving are daughters Karen Brewer and husband Otto of Westfield, Betsy Terpening and husband Chris of Fishers, IN, brothers Steve Clapp and wife Amy of Casey, John Clapp and Wendell Clapp, both of Westfield, grandchildren Brian Brewer, Jay Brewer, Katelin Suzanne Terpening and Kylie Elizabeth Terpening, great-grandchildren Brittney Brewer, Lindsey Brewer, Mckenzie Brewer and Emma Brewer along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Barbara Clapp and special friend Ray Gross. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
