Bertha Mae Gillson's Obituary
Bertha Mae Gillson, 89, of Westfield, IL, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2014 at Hines VA Hospital in Hines, IL. She was born on March 11, 1925 in Mattoon, IL, the daughter of Howard Robin Adair and Mildred LaRae Pierce Adair. On September 25, 1952 she married William "Bill" Coke Gillson in Decatur, IL. He passed away on January 14, 1994. Survivors include her daughter, Robin Dunleavy and husband Rick of Brookfield, IL; brother, Roy Edward Adair of Lerna, IL and grandson, Will Dunleavy. She was preceded by her parents, husband, four brothers and two sisters. Bertha was a US Navy WWII Veteran. She was a member of the Westfield Methodist Church, Westfield Ladies Home Extension and Westfield Public Library Board. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the Markwell Chapel with Rev. Walter Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Mound Cemetery, Charleston, IL. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Markwell Chapel, 119 S. Washington St., Westfield, IL.
