Benjamin Harrison Fisher's Obituary
Benjamin Harrison Fisher, Jr., 77, of Casey, passed away at 4:06 a.m. EST on Friday, June 9, 2006 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, IN. He was born July 21, 1928 in Casey, IL, the son of Benjamin H. Fisher, Sr. and Cassie M. Rodgers Fisher. He married Merle Rogers on October 11, 1952 in Mattoon, IL. Survivors include his wife Merle of Casey; two sons, Rick Fisher and wife Juanita of Marshall, IL and Ben Fisher and wife Maria of Rantoul, IL; two grandchildren, Joshua Davidson and wife Amy of Marshall, IL and Molly Ann Fisher of Marshall, IL; and 1 great grandson, McCale Davidson. He was preceded by his parents and brother Paul Fisher. Mr. Fisher was a member of the Casey Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Cubmaster for 5 years, Casey Park Board Member in the 1960's, Past Exalted Ruler of the Coolidge-Florence AZ Elks Club and Member and Founder of Round Grove Sportsmans Club. He was a mechanic for 28 years at Bryant Chevrolet, owner of Fisher Radiator, worked for the State Department of Transportation in Paris, IL and was Fire Chief of Casey Fire Department for over 20 years. A Memorial service will be held Sunday, June 11, at 1:00 p.m. at Casey Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Ron Juenger officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Casey Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Markwell & Son Funeral Home assisted with the arrangements.
