Barbara J. Decker's Obituary
Barbara J. Decker, age 88, of Casey, IL passed away surrounded by the love of her family at 9:15 p.m. on Friday, December 6, 2024 at Heartland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Casey, IL. She was born May 13, 1936 in Edgewood, IL, the daughter Russel and Verla (Louder) Allen. On November 15, 1962 she married John Raymond Decker, he passed away on July 15, 2000.
Barbara is survived by her children, Russell (Marla) Scoles of Mattoon, IL, Bruce (Deb) Decker of Casey, IL, and Doris Taylor of Princeton, IN; grandchildren, Bradley (Jenny) Barbee, Laurie (Jim) Bossman, Jacob (Courtney) Scoles, Amber (David) Moody, Kyleigh Decker, and Keygen Decker; great grandchildren, Mercedes Bialeschki, Maggie Bialeschki, Lux Derixson, Eli Scoles, Kaden Barbee, Caroline Bossman, and Jack Bossman; sister, Joyce Bluhm of Effingham, IL; brothers, Rex (Mary) Allen of Dieterich, IL and Ronnie (Shirley) Allen of Mason, IL; several nieces and nephews; and hundreds of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; sisters, Mary Winterrowd, Stella Donaldson, and Shirley who passed at birth; brother, Ralph Allen; and son-in-law, Ed Taylor.
Barbara attended North Clay High School in Louisville, IL. She was a sales representative for AFLAC and has many close friends who represented her AFLAC family. Barbara was inducted to the Wall of Fame for AFLAC for excellence, integrity, and consistency both professionally and personally. She achieved many awards and honors with AFLAC including the Company 's President 's Club and The Key Club Award four times. Barbara cherished her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and loved having them with her. Every opportunity she would brag about her beloved grandchildren. She loved watching and cheering for her granddaughter during her softball career. She was a faithful member of the Casey First Christian Church.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at the Casey First Christian Church with Pastor Adam Solorio officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Casey First Christian Church, 200 SE 8th St., Casey, IL. Burial will be held at a later date at the Jack Oak Cemetery in Union Center, IL.
Family encourages memorial contributions be made in Barb 's name to the Casey First Christian Church, 200 SE 8th St., Casey, IL 62420.
