Alberta Fields' Obituary
Alberta Fields, age 79, of Newton, died on Monday, May 23, 2005 at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 27, 2005 at the Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton with Rev. Paul Woods officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service and burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Newton. She was born May 24, 1925 in Jasper County, the daughter of Henry and Laura Eaton Utley. She married Paul Fields on November 12, 1942; he preceded her in death on December 11, 1991. She was a retired seamstress for the E.R. Moore Cap and Gown Factory in Newton after several years of employment. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Newton. Surviving are a daughter, Lyn Woods and husband Paul, of Newton, a brother Jesse Utley, also of Newton, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Ervin Eugene Fields, three brothers - Bill, Jack and Henry Utley and one sister, Henrietta "Red" Wilson. Memorials may be made to the Jasper County Relay for Life.
