William Reet Black

William “Bill” Reet Black, age 91, of Casey, IL passed away at 8:31 p.m. on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, IN. He was born March 3, 1929 in Charleston, IL, the son of Roy Clifford Black and Edith Fern Lilly. On June 17, 1956 he married Peggy Joan Goble in Shawneetown, IL. She preceded him in death on July 23, 2014.

Survivors include his children, Pam Black of Casey, IL; Debbie Jones of Holly Ridge, NC and Brad Black of Casey, IL; sisters, Sue Parker (Terry) of Kansas, IL and Virginia Carl of TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, Leland Black, Kenneth Black, Harold Lee Black and Larry Dean Black and sister, Mary Morecraft.

Bill was an I.U.O.E. 841 Heavy Equipment Operator for over 38 years, he retired in 1994. He proudly served in the United States Army in the Korean War. He was a life member of the Casey VFW and IUOE 841. He was also a member of the Casey Masonic Lodge, Hazel Dell American Legion and Danville Consistory.  Bill was a member of the First Baptist Church in Casey, IL.  

Due to current COVID restrictions Bill was laid to rest privately on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL.
