Warren Leon Stephen Obituary

Warren Leon Stephen, age 81, of Casey, IL passed away at 7:50 a.m. on Friday, September 25, 2020 at his home.  He was born January 18, 1939 in Casey, IL the son of Kenneth H. Stephen and Bertha “Alice” Perisho Stephen.  On April 4, 1958 he married Sharon E. Ennis in Martinsville, IL.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Sharon of Casey, IL; children, Scott Stephen (Sarah) of Altamont, IL; Connie Ghast (Bruce) of Casey, IL and Michael Stephen (Cindy) of Casey, IL; grandchildren, Derek Ghast (friend Lauter); Seth Ghast (Meghan); Shelby Babbs (Jeff) and Preston Rieck (friend Nicole); great grandchildren, Nadylie and Kyler Ghast and Ralph and Theodore Babbs; sister , Dorothy Bartley (Bob) of Charleston, IL; brothers and sisters in law, Ruth Beasley (Bill Williams) of Casey, IL; Dwight Ennis (Leeila) of Westfield, IL; Morris Ennis (Mary Kay) of Decatur, IL; Zoe Chittick (Gary ) of Clinton, IN; Martha Menser (Jerry) of Westfield, IL; Sharon Ennis of Casey, IL and many nephews and nieces.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Bob Stephen (Ko); brothers in law, Theron Ennis and Gene Beasley and sister in law, Joyce Ennis.

Warren was a member of Casey High School Class of 1957.  He retired in 2004 after working as a mechanic for Casey Implement Company.  He served as a Parker Township Trustee since 2005.  Warren was member of East Central Illinois Antique Tractor Club and Salisbury Church. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at Markwell Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Stewart and Pastor Ray Finney officiating.  Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. on Monday evening at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL. (Per CDC guidelines, 50 attendees are allowed inside our facility at a time. Attendees should stay at least 6 feet (2 meters) apart and wear a cloth face covering.)
