Victor Lee "Vic" Oakley

Victor Lee “Vic” Oakley,  age 67, of Westfield, IL passed away at 12:58 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Coles County, IL.  He was born July 18, 1954 in Westfield, IL the son of Maurice Dean Oakley and Lorna Gene Lashbrook Oakley.  Vic married Glenda Kay Hess on July 13, 1992 in Charleston, IL.  They were together for 36 years and married for 29 wonderful years.

Survivors include his wife, Glenda Oakley of Westfield, IL; daughter, Carrie Lee Oakley of Westfield, IL; grandson, Dalton Lee Oakley of Westfield, IL; brother, Rick Oakley (Debbie) of Charleston, IL; sisters, Mitzi Johnston (Ken) of Westfield, IL and Melody Blanchard (Quincy) of Westfield, IL; aunt, Lois Moore of Casey, IL; several nephews and nieces; the Westfield community; his Church family and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Vic was a 1972 graduate of Westfield High School.  He worked at Trailmobile for 24 years and retired from GSI after 24 years. Vic was a faithful and active member of Westfield Baptist Church; where he was a deacon and a trustee.  Vic loved working for the Lord.  He was a member of Westfield Masonic Lodge.  He was the greatest dad anyone could imagine.  One of his greatest joys in life was being “Pap-paw” to Dalton; they loved watching the Bears, Cardinals, Bulls and Illini.  Vic enjoyed playing slow pitch softball for years as the pitcher and was a big gardener.  He was the most wonderful husband, dad and pap-paw.  I’ll see you again.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Westfield Baptist Church with Pastor Gene Ellis and Pastor Scott Sims officiating.  Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Westfield, IL.  Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening at Westfield Baptist Church, 201 E. Fulton St., Westfield, IL.  Casual attire is requested.
