Thomas “Tom” Elliott Pfister, age 76, of Casey, IL passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, February 22, 2021. He was a former resident of Winter Haven, FL; Lancaster, PA; and Park Forest, IL. He was born on April 30, 1944 in Washington D.C., the son of Harlan Elliott Pfister and Evelyn Dorothy Green Pfister. He married Carol Louise Granger on May 22, 1965 in Park Forest, IL.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Pfister of Casey, IL; son, Brian Elliott Pfister of Marshall, IL; grandchildren, Nathan Pfister (Hallie), Ashley Pfister and Kristi Schober (Shawn); three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Thomas was a 1962 graduate of Glenbard East High School in Glen Ellyn, IL. He attended Tarkio College in Tarkio, MO and Illinois Wesleyan in Bloomington, IL. He was a manufacturing supervisor for RR Donnelly & Sons in Chicago, IL and was later transferred to Lancaster, PA; he retired after 38 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Casey, IL and The Elliott Club. He restored a 1946 Hudson and was active in car clubs, Lancaster Co. Cruisers, Model Rail Roading and Ridge Live Steamers Trains. Thomas also enjoyed photography. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at the Casey United Methodist Church, 703 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL with Rev. Joe Richard officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 – 11 a.m. prior to the service at the Church. Burial will be in the Washington Street Cemetery in Casey, IL at a later date.
