Thomas Levi Grissom

Thomas Levi Grissom, age 86, of Cape Coral, FL formerly of Casey, IL passed away Thursday March 26, 2020 in the care of Hope Hospice. Tom moved to Cape Coral from Casey, Illinois in 2017 to be closer to his son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Lee Grissom and Anita Pintado. He graduated from Casey High School, Class of 1951. Thomas served honorably in the Air Force as a flight crew member on B-36 aircraft, as a Staff Sargent stationed in El Paso, Texas from 1952 - 1956. He returned and worked various jobs until ultimately working for Caterpillar Tractor for over 30 years.  Upon his retirement in 1990, he purchased a Honda Goldwing and traveled the US extensively.

Tom is survived by his loving family, son Thomas Lee Grissom (Anita), son-in-law Matthew Worth Moore, grandchildren Diann Michell Barker (Darrel), Garry Eugene McBerryhill (Teresa), Kamy Lynn Grissom, Brian Christopher Grissom, and Jason Michael Grissom, great grandchildren, Xavi, Kaia, Remy, Margaret, and Charles, brothers and sisters Virginia June McCullough, Richard Arthur Grissom, Shirley Ann Field, Evelyn Lue Roan, Elizabeth Sue Novak, numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Noble Neal and Leona Mae, daughter Susan Diane Moore, great grandson Isaac Christopher, his previous wife of 17 years and the mother of his children Charlotte Arlene Weaver, brothers and sisters Dorothy Jeanne Ring, Etta Mae Grissom, Juanita Marie McBride, Maurice Ray Grissom, Maurine Kay Hunsaker.

The family would like to sincerely thank the dedicated staff of Hope Hospice along with those who assisted him most in his final days.

A service for Tom will be held at more appropriate time once the pandemic is cleared.  His ashes will ultimately be laid to rest in Casey, Illinois.
