Stephen Cyrus Brandt, Jr.

Stephen Cyrus Brandt Jr., age 70, passed away at his home doing what he loved on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 in Westfield, IL.  He was born January 29, 1951 in East Chicago, IN, the son of Stephen Cyrus Brandt Sr. and Erminia Navarro Brandt.  On July 24, 1987 he married Brenda May Lee Adams Case in West Union, IL. They shared 32 years of marriage before she passed away on July 22, 2019.

Survivors include his children, Steve Carl Brandt (Terri) of Jacksonville, FL; Mary Ella Brandt (Will Edgerton) of North Stonington, CT; Heather Lynn Brandt (Rob Turner) of Minster, OH; Alea Anne Brandt of Effingham, IL; Terry Scott Adams (Bette) of Westfield, IL; Julie May Margaret Evans (Jim) of Westfield, IL; Travis Lee Adams of Westfield, IL and Amanda Jo Case Adams (Jacob) of Westfield, IL; mother, Ruth Stormant (Gary) of Ashmore, IL; siblings, Terry Brandt of Charleston, IL; Sharon VanNess (Ron) of Lerna, IL; Shella Fite (Dewayne Logan) of New Carlisle, OH; Todd Coleman (JoLee) of Effingham, IL; Stephanie Schrock (Louis) of Lerna, IL and Randall Kirk Jr. of Carmel, IN; 20 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; nephews, nieces and friends.  He was preceded in death by his father Stephen Brandt Sr.; birth mother Erminia Kirk; wife, Brenda Brandt; brothers, George Raymond Brandt and Anthony “Tony” Eugene Warner and 2 grandchildren.

Stephen was US Army veteran.  He loved woodworking and welding which led him to his profession as a welder.  He was employed as a welder for Trailmobile in Charleston, IL until their closing; he then worked for GSI in Paris, IL until retirement.  Stephen was a member of the Westfield United Methodist Church.  He loved his family dearly; his grandchildren and great grandchildren brought him tremendous joy. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, November 30, 2021at Westfield United Methodist Church with Rev. Walter Miller officiating.  Visitation will be held from 4 – 6 p.m. prior to the service on Tuesday evening at Westfield United Methodist Church, 225 S. Madison St., Westfield, IL.  Burial will be held at a later date in Richwoods Cemetery, Westfield, IL.
