Ruth Ann (Remlinger) Southard

Ruth Ann Southard, age 84, of Casey IL passed away at 6:04 a.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, IN.  She was born October 24, 1937 in Marshall, IL the daughter of Robert Quincy Remlinger and Mildred Louise Clouse Remlinger.  On November 29, 2009 she married Rev. Loren Eugene “Gene” Southard in Henderson, KY.

Survivors include her husband, Gene Southard of Casey, IL; daughter, Deborah Hagood of Casey, IL; brothers, Carl Remlinger, Sr. and Richard Remlinger both of Casey, IL; sisters, Patty Remlinger Rowe of Casey, IL; Martha Remlinger McGregor of Springfield, IL; Ann Remlinger Daniels, Donna Remlinger Daniels and Mary Remlinger Johnson all of Lincoln, IL; sister in law, Linda Remlinger of Lincoln, IL; many nephews and nieces, great nephews and nieces and her beloved grandpuppy,  Linzee “Worm”.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Quincy and Mildred Remlinger; brothers, Robert Remlinger and James Remlinger; sister, Catherine Sue Remlinger Hout and son in law, Fred Hagood. 

Ruth supported and attended Church with Gene as he pastored many Churches.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and was an excellent cook.  Ruth retired from TRW after 37 years of loyal service.    

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 14, 2022 at Markwell Funeral Home with Rev. Zeb Meyers officiating.  Burial will follow in the Washington Street Cemetery, Casey, IL.  Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. prior to the service on Monday at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.
