Rosalee Bennett Roan

Rosalee Bennett Roan, age 92, of Casey, IL passed away at 5:35 p.m. on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at Heartland Nursing and Rehabilitation in Casey, IL.  She was born on July 15, 1929, in Martinsville, IL the daughter of Vess Bennett and Carrie Agnes (O’Dell) Bennett. On December 24, 1947, she married William “Bill” Roan in Robinson, IL; he passed away on November 24, 2004.

Survivors include her children, Bob Roan Sr. (Nancy) of Clark Center, IL, Roger Allen Roan (Krystal) of Casey, IL and Kathy Roan Ramsey of Casey, IL; 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William “Bill” Roan; brother, Denzil Bennett; sisters, Hazel Fain and Mary Weir and grandsons, Tony Allen Roan and Robert Eugene Roan Jr.

Rosalee worked at the G and G Café when she was young and later worked at Casey Shoe Factory for 11 years.   She also had worked at TRW in Marshall, IL and the Underwood Factory in Casey, IL.  Rosalee enjoyed cooking, crocheting, gardening and playing cards.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday August 14, 2021 at Markwell Funeral Home with Pastor Gene Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service on Saturday at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL. Per CDC Guidelines… If you have not been fully vaccinated face masks are required.  Please also maintain social distancing.
