Robert Harlen Smith

Robert Harlen Smith, age 64, of Lewisville, TX passed away at 6:15 a.m. on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Vitas Hospice in Carrolton, TX.  He was born on December 20, 1956 in Terre Haute, IN the son of Harlen Gibson Smith and Dorothy Frances Ashby Smith.   

Survivors include his son, Jonathan Edward Smith of Sanger, TX; sisters, Linda Cown of Thornton, CO, Brenda Henson of Bethany, IL, Mary Gard of Casey, IL and Barbara Van Sickle of Broomfield, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother in law, Richard Gard. 

Robert was a 1976 graduate of Casey High School.  He graduated from Bethel College with a Master of Theology.  Robert served as a Minister in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Locust Grove, Oklahoma for 8 years.  He recently retired from Capital One where employed as a loan officer for 15 years. He enjoyed music, reading and theology. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. 

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 6, 2021 at the Casey Cumberland Cemetery in Casey, IL with Rev. Kevin Small officiating.
