Rhea Mae Inman Blaker, age 99, of Casey, IL passed away peacefully at 11:20 a.m. on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Heartland Nursing and Rehab Center in Casey, IL. She was born on February 17, 1922 in Mattoon, IL the daughter of Ben H. Lewis and Maude Riggins Lewis. On September 19, 1939 she married Bernard Inman in Henderson, KY; he passed away on September 16, 1963. On August 20, 1965 she married John Blaker in Casey, IL; he passed away on December 16, 1978.
Survivors include her sons, Leon Inman (Linda) of Martinsville, IL and Kenneth Inman (Cathy) of Martinsville, IL; stepson, Charles R. Blaker (Connie) of Catlin, IL; grandchildren, Sandy Becker (Carl) of Danville, IL, Debbie Owens (Jim) of Danville, IL, Lisa Dillman (Brad) of Valdosta, GA and Lora Parcel (Joey) of Martinsville, IL; ten great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents; husbands, Bernard Inman and John Blaker; sisters, Mildred Lewis, Fern Bennett and Martha Gaalema; daughter, Linda Lamb; stepson, David Blaker; daughter-in-law, Linda Faye Inman; granddaughter, Kristi Lamb; and great grandson, Brandon Lamb.
Rhea graduated from Westfield High School. She was a lifelong member of the Willis Chapel Church of God. For many years she enjoyed making quilts with the Ladies Aid and was involved in lots of church activities. She also enjoyed sewing and making pillows for her family and friends. One newspaper article referred to her as “The Pillow Lady.” Heartland Nursing and Rehab became her home for the past 10 years where she fell in love with the staff. Rhea loved spending time with her family and being at family gatherings.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Markwell Funeral Home in Casey, IL with Pastor Justin Janney officiating. Burial will follow in the Willis Chapel Cemetery in Martinsville, IL. Visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday prior to the service at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL. (Per CDC guidelines attendees should social distance and wear a cloth face covering.)
