Retha Imogene Wilhoit, age 89, of Martinsville, IL passed away at 12:10 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at Heartland Nursing Center, Casey, IL surrounded by her family. She was born August 6, 1930 in Casey, IL the daughter of Claude Mauk and Lucy Malinda Brimner Mauk. On August 29, 1948 she married Rex Levonne Wilhoit in Casey, IL. He passed away on June 3, 2003.
Survivors include her sons, Richard Alan Wilhoit of Casey, IL and Roger David Wilhoit (Becky) of Martinsville, IL; daughters, Rhonda Denise Aanes of Effingham IL; Rosalyn Diane Starwalt (David) of Martinsville, IL and Rebecca Deanne Schiver (John) of Martinsville, IL; grandchildren, Justin Wilhoit (Erin Kirby), Jerod Wilhoit, Jourdan Wilhoit (Jeremiah Stephens), Dessie Sharp (Mike Duvall), Matthew Miller, Donnie Starwalt, Alisha Willenborg (Matt), Andrea Aanes, Jesse Schiver (Tiffany) and Kristi Dickerson and fourteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son in law, Robin Aanes.
Retha was a 1948 graduate of Casey High School. She was co-owner of Cellar Antiques for 35 years, where she was able to use her extensive knowledge of antique glassware and jewelry. Retha also worked for Wolfe’s Auto Supply in Martinsville, IL for over 15 years. She served as a Clark County election judge and tax assessor in Martinsville Township. Retha attended Five Points Christian Church and in recent years attended Martinsville First Christian Church. She was a member of the Martinsville Chamber of Commerce, Red Hat Society and was a Cub Scout Den Mother. Retha enjoyed Bridge Club, Friendship Quilting Club, flower arranging and attending auctions.
Due to current social restrictions and our concern for family and friends services in honor of Retha will be private. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Martinsville, IL
