Ralph W. Lee, age 75, of 206 E. Buckeye passed away at 1:25 p.m. on Monday, April 19, 1993 at his residence. He was a retired farmer. He was born November 6, 1917 in Crary, ND to James A. Lee and Mary Wood Lee.
Survivors include his wife, Doris J. Lee; son, Gary E. Lee of Casey, IL; son and daughter-in-law, Paul W. and Marsha McVey Lee of Casey, IL; his father, James A. Lee of Casey, IL; brother, James D. Lee of Casey, IL; sisters, Mrs. Merle (Lucile) Todd of Casey, IL, Mrs. Charles (Helen) Swinford of Hoffman Estates, IL, Miss Leona Lee of Bordentown, NJ and Mrs. Harold (Marge) Lawless of Blue Rapids, KS; grandson, Jeffrey Lee of Casey, IL; fifteen nieces and nephews; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother and two sisters.
He was former owner of Lee’s Locker Plant in Martinsville, IL and former co-owner of Massey-Ferguson Dealership in Casey, IL. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Casey Veterans of Foreign War Post 5762, Martinsville American Legion, Casey Country Club and charter member of Round Grove Sportsman Club. He was a former member of Casey Rotary Club and former president and secretary of Casey Board of Education. He served as past trustee at Casey United Methodist Church and was an active member.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 22, 1993 at Markwell Funeral Home with Rev. George Baldridge officiating. Visitation was held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Markwell Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 21, 1993. Burial was in the Cumberland Cemetery in Casey, IL with graveside military rites by Casey VFW Post 5762.
Memorial contributions were made to the American Cancer Society.
