Paula Lee (Mitchell) Tipsword

Paula Lee (Mitchell) Tipsword, age 67, of Casey, IL passed away at 11:33 p.m. on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Mattoon, IL. She was born May 26, 1956 in Terre Haute, IN, the daughter of Paul Duane “Pete” Mitchell and Rosemary (Hickox) Mitchell.  On June 26, 1973 she married William “Will” Tipsword in Charleston, IL.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Will Tipsword of Casey, IL; children, Amy Tipsword (Janell Nastal) of Mattoon, IL and Zachary Tipsword (Kaitlyn) of Casey, IL; grandchildren, Finley, Lainey and Ezra Tipsword of Casey, IL; mother, Rosemary Mitchell of Casey, IL; brother, Roger Mitchell (Sue) of Casey, IL; sister in law, Kay Mitchell of Casey, IL, many nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces and cousins.  She was preceded by her father, Pete Mitchell and brother, Roy Mitchell.

Paula was a 1974 graduate of Casey High School.  She owned and operated the Little Green Barn and Resale Shop in Casey, IL for about 10 years, retiring in 2016.  Paula loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She was a loving Nana and enjoyed watching their sporting events, especially softball. Paula always enjoyed gardening; her passion was evident by the beautiful flowers surrounding her home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 31, 2023 at Markwell Funeral Home with Pastor Jon McDonald officiating.  Burial will follow in Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL.  Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday prior to the service at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.

Memorial donations may be made to her grandchildren's savings fund. (Tipsword Grandchildren c/o Casey State Bank, PO Box 337, Casey, IL 62420).
