Nancy was born on April 11, 1944 in Tuscola, Illinois; the daughter of Ivan and Nancy Jane (Taylor) Massie. She was a 1962 graduate of Villa Grove High School.  Nancy married Al Lauritzen on June 16, 1962 in Hugo, IL and excitedly began raising their two children, 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. They enjoyed 58 years of wedded bliss and were a great example of what “till death do us part” represented.

She was a member of the Methodist Church and served many professions throughout her years including roles at the local school while Jeff and Greg were in attendance and City Clerk, however, her FAVORITE role was raising her family. Everything she did was for her boys!

Nancy’s favorite titles were daughter, sister, wife, mom, aunt, grandma, and friend. Anyone who knew Nancy knew her warm spirit and loving heart. She adored her family and RARELY missed the chance to cheer on her grandkids at their many sporting events near and far. She was so proud to share stories of her kids and grandkids with anyone who would listen. She cherished family time and was beaming when the family was all together. She loved all things yellow and margaritas, so it was fitting she went home on Cinco de Mayo.

Nancy is already greatly missed by her loving husband, Al; son Jeffrey (Lisa) Lauritzen of Effingham, Illinois; grandchildren Jordan, Logan, Aiden, Addie and Alivia; great grandchildren Jaxson and Braxton; brother Richard (Vera) Massie of Decatur, IL; special friend, Tony Baird; many in-laws, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and amazing friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ivan and Nancy Jane; son Gregory Owen; sisters Betty Lou Warmon and Shirley Spencer and brother Jim Massie.
