Michael Allen “Mike” Fain, age 72, of Hidalgo, IL passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born July 17, 1949 in Paris, IL the son of Elda Leonard “Bud” Fain and Hazel Audrey Bennett Fain. On January 19, 1974 he married Marilyn Sue Fry in Aurora, IL; they shared 48 wonderful years of marriage.
Survivors include his loving wife, Marilyn Fain of Hidalgo, IL; sons, Jason Fain (Jen) of Lerna, IL and Dalton Fain (Alicia) of Mattoon, IL; grandsons, Jonathon Matthew Fain and Andrew Jason Fain; sister, Gloria Fain Wallis (Ronald L.) of Casey, IL; many nephews, nieces and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and parents.
Mike was a 1967 graduate of Newton High School. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War from 1969 – 1970. For over 30 years Mike worked as a tool and die maker. He was a member of Shepard’s Chapel in Arkansas.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at 12 p.m. on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Markwell Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Parr officiating. Military Rites by Casey VFW and Martinsville American Legion will follow the service at the funeral home. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. prior to the service on Saturday at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL. (Per CDC Guidelines face coverings are required regardless of vaccination status in the facility. Attendees should also practice social distancing.)
