Maurice Eugene “Tif” Tiffin, age 82, of Casey, IL passed away at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, February 7, 2020 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Coles County, IL. He was born January 29, 1938 in Dolson Twp., Clark County, IL, the son of Ted Bruford Tiffin and Elma June Claypool Tiffin. On November 18, 1961 he married Bonnie Maxine Tiffin in Casey, IL.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Maxine Tiffin of Casey, IL; children, Kimberly Dawn Tiffin Spencer (Daniel) of Lafayette, IN; Troy Eugene Tiffin (Abby) of Vincennes, IN and Andrea LeAnn Tiffin of Lafayette, IN; brother, Doit Tiffin of Casey, IL; sister, Renae Woodfall of Casey, IL; eleven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Eleanor Elliott (Curtis); nephew, Mark Elliott; niece, Belinda Curtis and grandson, Aurek Rardin.
Maurice was a 1956 graduate of Casey High School. He served his country in the United States Army from 1961 – 1963 during the Vietnam War. Maurice retired from Rowe Foundry after working 36 years in the shipping department. He was a member of the Word of Life Church and enjoyed gardening, working in his yard, John Deere tractors and watching professional tennis. He was an avid Cubs, Bears and Illini fan.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Markwell Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Wade officiating. Burial will follow in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL with graveside military rites by Casey VFW and Martinsville American Legion. Visitation will be held from 12 noon to 1 p.m. prior to the service on Tuesday at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.
