Margaret Carole (Armstrong) Comer Lehne

Margaret Carole Comer Lehne, age 86, of Carol Stream, IL passed away peacefully at 4:50 a.m. on Sunday, November 20, 2022 at Advent Health Glen Oaks Hospital in Glendale Heights, IL. She was born October 21, 1936 in Jasonville, IN the daughter of Randall Lennis “Pete” Armstrong and Amanda Camille Howard Harvey Armstrong. On August 19, 1956 she married Bobby Lewis Comer in Martinsville, IL; he was formerly of Casey, IL and passed away March 15, 1986. On January 1, 1989 she married Cletus A. Lehne in East Moline, IL; he passed away October 25, 2000.

Survivors include her son, David Comer (Debbie) of Elmhurst, IL; daughter, Peggy Szarzynski (Dennis) of Carol Stream, IL; stepson, Albert M. Lehne of East Moline, IL; brother, Howard L. Armstrong of Patoka, IN; three grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents and spouses; brother, William J. Harvey; and stepson, C.J. Lehne.

Margaret was a graduate of Martinsville High School in Martinsville, IL and after graduation attended Gale Institute in Minneapolis, MN. She was a bookkeeper at Northern Baptist Theological Seminary for 17 years. She was a bookkeeper and in sales at Spiegel for 8 years. Margaret was also a journalist for Stewards for 12 years. She was a proud life member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Navy League of the USA. For over sixty years, she was also a member of the Walter Burdick NSDAR for over sixty years. Margaret was full of life and enjoyed reading and traveling.

Graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at the Mount Olive Cemetery in Mount Olympus, IN.
