Lois Ann Comer Obituary

Lois Ann (Fleming) Comer, age 86, of Casey, IL passed away at 11:57 a.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at Heartland Nursing and Rehab in Casey, IL.  She was born May 21, 1937 in Quincy, IL, the daughter of David Ross Fleming and Eulalia Pearl (Faulk) Fleming.  On August 26, 1956 she married Richard Ray Comer in Bement, IL.  They celebrated over 60 years of marriage before he passed away on July 28, 2017.

Survivors include her children, Diana Nash (Terry) of Greenup, IL; Rick Comer (Tammy) of Casey, IL and David Comer (Sonya) of Bourbonnais, IL; grandchildren, Jamie Smith (Sam), Chris Nash (Brandy), Terra Davis (Joe), Carolann Roedl (Ed), Taylor Comer, Michaela Gray (Peter), Madison Atkinson (Andrew), Naomi Comer and Gracie Comer; twelve great grandchildren, many nephews and nieces, her Church family and many friends.  She was preceded by her parents, husband and brothers, Carl Fleming, Jerry Fleming and Richard Fleming.

Lois Ann was a 1955 graduate of Bement High School.  She was a homemaker and helped on the family farm her entire life.  She also worked as a clerical aid for Monroe School for many years.  She was known as the “Scooter Lady.”  Lois Ann enjoyed mowing her yard and cooking for her family and friends.  She was well known for her Christmas chili and always insisted your glass was always full of ice and your soup was hot.  Lois Ann loved dogs and collected penguins.  She enjoyed watching movies; Snow White was her favorite movie.  Lois Ann was a faithful member of Casey United Methodist Church. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Casey United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Joe Richards officiating.  Burial will follow in Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL.  Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 p.m. on Friday evening at Casey United Methodist Church, 703 N. State Hwy. 49, Casey, IL.
