Linda Maureen Hickox Lindsey Wiegel

Linda Maurine Hickox Lindsey Wiegel 76, formally of Casey and longtime resident of Mahomet, died at 12:33 p.m. Tuesday (May 12, 2020) at Bement Health Care Center. A graveside funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 16, at Riverside Cemetery in Mahomet for immediate family.

Linda was born on Oct. 19, 1943, in Casey, a daughter of Victor ‘Ross’ and Uneta (Walden) Hickox. Linda was a 1961 graduate of Casey High School.  She married Harold ‘Dick’ Lindsey on Dec. 6, 1964.  He died on Oct. 6, 1975.  She married Harlie Wiegel on Nov. 6, 1976.  He died on March 20, 2012.

Survivors include one son, David (Ellen) Lindsey of Urbana (and their son Joseph); three stepsons, Greg (Sharon) Wiegel of Mansfield, Todd (Cindy) Wiegel of Monticello and Steve (Kathy) Koss of White Heath; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Richard (Carol) Hickox of Sidney, IL, and lots of relatives from both sides of the Hickox and Walden families.

She is preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter Liticia Moran Lindsey; and infant granddaughter Ann Marie Lindsey: a stepson, Scott Wiegel; and a sister, Peggy ‘Hickox’ Stephen of Westfield.

Linda was a longtime member of Eastern Star and is the past worthy matron of the Mecca Chapter.
