Linda Marie (Smith) Cown

Linda Marie (Smith) Cown, age 78, of Thornton, CO passed away peacefully on Monday April 3, 2023 at her residence. She was born on August 3, 1944 in Casey, IL, the daughter of Harlen G. Smith and Dorothy Frances (Ashby) Smith.

Survivors include her loving children, Chad Cown and wife Stacy of Broomfield, CO and Angela Cown and fiancé Chris Hugi of Cotopaxi, CO; grandchildren, Joshua Worster and fiancé KennaLee Rowley of Grand Jct. CO and Jessica Worster of Denver CO; sisters, Brenda Henson and husband Doug of Bethany, IL, Mary Gard of Casey, IL, and Barbara Van Sickle of Broomfield, CO and many nephews and nieces.  She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Robert Smith, and brother in law, Richard Gard.

Linda was a 1962 graduate of Casey High School. She loved her job as a telephone operator in Casey, IL then many years as a receptionist in Colorado. Linda loved her church family and was a faithful member of Good Shepherd UMC Church in Thornton, CO. She loved the outdoors and said it always called to her, never missing a day of sitting in the sunshine. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will always have a special place in all of our hearts.

Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL with Brother Ivan Bennett officiating.
