Leola "Wink" Ann (Churchill) Huffman Matteson

Leola “Wink” Ann Churchill Huffman Matteson, age 85, of Casey, IL passed away at 3:39 p.m. on October 30, 2021 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL. She was born November 27, 1935 in Casey, IL the daughter of Percy Churchill and Sylvia Churchill. In 1951 she married Marion “Huffie” Huffman, he passed away in 2002.

Survivors include sons, Leon Huffman of Casey, IL, Randy Huffman of Charleston, IL, Donald Huffman of Happyvalley, OR, and David Huffman of Dieterich, IL; daughter, Nancy Phillippi of Casey, IL; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Marion Huffman; daughter, Janice Huffman; grandchildren, Brady Huffman and Cody Huffman; daughter in law, Brenda Huffman; brothers, Johnny Churchill, Bud Churchill, and Herb Churchill; and sister, Lois Woolever.

Leola was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family. She was a member of the VFW in Charleston, IL and enjoyed playing bingo with her friends. She also enjoyed reading books. Wink as so many called her will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Graveside services and burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 4, 2021 in the Washington Street Cemetery in Casey, IL with Pastor Gene Ellis officiating.
