Lelan Paul Nash Obituary

Lelan Paul Nash, age 78, of Martinsville, IL passed away peacefully on April 17, 2022 surrounded by loved ones at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, IN.

Paul was born January 13, 1944, in Martinsville, IL to Lelan and Mildred (Washburn) Nash.  He married Ann (Rardin) Nash on August 15, 1964; together they shared 47 years of marriage and raised two children. After Ann’s passing, he married Mary (Tarr) Nash on May 4, 2015; together they shared 6 years of marriage and made many wonderful memories together including traveling and spending time with their grandchildren.

Paul was a 1962 graduate of Martinsville High School. He served on the Martinsville School Board for 12 years and was a trustee of Orange Township. He had many loves in life including his motorcycle, camping, snowmobiling, hunting, watching football, spending time with his family, and enjoying coffee with friends every morning. He farmed for many years, and his grandchildren always loved to get rides on his tractor. He even made a John Deere tractor mailbox that his grandchildren could ride on. Paul was a member of the Olive Branch Church where he accepted Christ as his Savior as a young man. He will be missed dearly.

He is survived by his wife, Mary (Tarr) Nash of Martinsville, IL; daughter, Kelli Inboden and husband Scott of Westfield, IL; daughter-in-law, Mary Nash of Vandalia, IL; brother, Lloyd Nash and wife Libby of Martinsville, IL; sister-in-law, Jo Ann Nash of Naperville, IL; granddaughter, Dayken Underdahl and husband Derek of Mukwonago, WI; grandson, Brayden Nash and wife Hayley of Normal, IL; grandson, Reid Inboden and wife Marney of Charleston, IL; grandson, Riley Inboden and wife Carley of Champaign, IL; great-granddaughters, Brynlee Underdahl, Bricelyn Underdahl, and Ivy Inboden; soon to be great-grandsons Kit and Lux Nash due in May; and many more nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews. He also leaves behind a wonderful second family, the Tarrs, whom he loved dearly.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Lelan and Mildred; wife of many years Ann; son, Barry; brother, Donald; and nephew, Phil.

Funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Greenwell Funeral Home with Brother Billie Ray Ulrey officiating.  Burial will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery in rural Martinsville, IL. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2022 at Greenwell Funeral Home, 30 N. Washington St., Martinsville, IL.
