Keith Sinclair

Keith Sinclair, age 71, of Casey, IL passed away at 10:04 p.m. on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Coles County, IL. He was born May 1, 1952 in Decatur, IL, the son of Herbert Jerome Sinclair and Shirley Jean (McKirahan) Sinclair. On August 11, 1973 he married Debra Sue Rhoades in Assumption, IL; they celebrated fifty years of marriage before her passing on February 17, 2024.

Survivors include his loving daughters, Kimberly Ault (Benjamin) of Round Lake, IL and Amy Hines of Casey, IL; grandchildren, Hadley Hines and Carter Ault; siblings, Michael Sinclair of Jacksonville, FL and Sherry Sulwer of St. Louis, MO; nephews, nieces, his church family and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Debi Sinclair.

Keith was a 1970 graduate of Cerro Gordo High School. He continued his education and graduated from Eastern Illinois University with his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1974 and his Master of Education in 1985. He retired from Casey-Westfield High School in 2007. 

Coach Sinclair had a legacy career as the Casey-Westfield Football Coach from 1981 to 1990 and 1999 to 2011.  Along with Coach Vidoni, Coach Sinclair led his team to football championship appearances in 1982, 1985, 2008 and 2011; earning a state championship during the 1985 season.  Coach Sinclair was inducted into the Illinois High School Football Coaches Hall of Fame in 2007.  He instilled a love of the game and learning.  His legacy continues with all the students he was privileged to mentor, teach and coach.

Keith was a faithful member of the Casey First Christian Church.  He enjoyed golfing and watching comedy movies and old westerns.  Keith was a proud dad and grandpa and enjoyed any time he could spend with his family.    

Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, 2024 at Casey-Westfield High School gymnasium with Pastor Adam Solorio officiating.  Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. prior to the service on Sunday at the C-W High School gym, 306 E. Edgar St., Casey, IL.  Graveside committal and burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 4, 2024 at Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL.
