Karla Annette Hires Wilson, age 60, of Martinsville, IL passed away at 11:57 p.m. on Friday, October 15, 2021 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, IN. She was born October 26, 1960 in Oblong, IL the daughter of Roy Harlen Hires and Rosa D. Orndorff Hires.

Survivors include her children, Glenna Parish (Andy Miller) of Oblong, IL, Gregory Allen Wilson of Casey, IL, Karrie Wilson (Chris Sites) of Casey, IL and Thomas Wilson (Felicia Stout) of Ridge Farm, IL; siblings, Bill Hires of West Union, IL, Chris Dunlap (Jim) of Hindsboro, IL, Mona Brown of Merom, IN, Bud Hires of Hustonville, IL, Treva Miller of Marshall, IL and Frankalina Simpson of FL; grandchildren, Caleb Cown, Nathan Cown, Cheyenne Kennedy, Savanah Kennedy, Deziree Wilson, Jonathan Sites, Jasmine Sites, Kristopher Sites, Kamie Stout, Andrew Wilson and Jensen Wilson; great grandchildren, Pycan Zachary, Tavia Zachary, Halo Miller, Haisley Bowman and Sonya Bowman. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Christina Hires, brothers, Jack Hires, Steven Hires, Gene Hires and Charles Hires and grandson, Chance Walter Lee Sites.

Karla enjoyed playing cards including Rummy and Solitaire. She also enjoyed the outdoors especially mushroom hunting. Most importantly in Karla’s life was her family and she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was unconditionally supportive and had a Heart of Gold.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Greenwell Funeral Home with Brother Art Orndorff officiating. Burial will follow in the Restitution Cemetery, rural Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at Greenwell Funeral Home, 30 N. Washington St., Martinsville, IL. (Per CDC guidelines, face coverings are required regardless of vaccination status. Please also maintain social distancing.)
