Jerry Max Gross

Jerry Max Gross, age 84, of Casey, IL passed away at 11:45 a.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2020 at Casey Health Care Center, Casey, IL.  He was born July 15, 1935 in Casey, IL the son of Ira Gross and Audrey Howe Gross.  On December 13, 1958 he married Dorothy Irene Reisner in Hidalgo, IL.

Survivors include his children, Iris McNurlan (Lloyd) of Casey, IL; Kathy Cisney (Vernon) of Rose Hill, IL; Karen Haley (John Mark) of Casey, IL; Ron Gross of Casey, IL; Steve Gross of Yale, IL; Wallace E. Gross of Casey, IL and Beth Morgan of Paris, IL; siblings, Lester Gross of Casey, IL; Kay Monroe of Toledo, IL and Gwen Schmidt of Casey, IL; the mother of his children, Dorothy Smith of Casey, IL; sixteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Wallace Howard Gross, Donald Gross, Leroy “Pete” Gross and sisters, Norma Hardy and Joan Gross. 

Jerry worked for Huisinga Grain for 20 years.  He was also a retired self-employed mechanic and carpenter in the area.  Jerry enjoyed fishing, raising dwarf fruit trees, watching the Grand Ole Opry and attending antique tractor pulls.  In his younger years he enjoyed restoring 1930 cars. 

At his request there will be no services.
