Jacqueline L. "Jackie" Dickey

Jacqueline L. “Jackie” Dickey, age 81, of Oblong, IL passed away at 12:20 a.m. on Monday, February 6, 2023 at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson, IL. She was born April 11, 1941 in Terre Haute, IN, the only child of Wesley Burdette “Speed” Dickey and Maude (Smith) Darling.

Survivors include her cousins, Paul Geffs (Lynn) of Oblong, IL and Todd Geffs (Denise) of Casey, IL and his family Levi Ring, Zachariah Ring (Kyrie), Andrew Geffs (Taylor), and Rebecca Geffs. She was preceded in death by her parents; aunts, Mae Geffs (Bruce) and Madge Reed (Lester); and uncles, Hubert Smith (Norma) and Harry Dickey

Jackie was a 1959 graduate of Casey High School. She enjoyed helping on the family farm and was a sole cutter at Ettelbrick Shoe Factory in Charleston, IL for several years. Jackie also worked as a cashier at the Moonshine store. She was a member of the Bellair Church of Christ. She was also a longtime member and past treasurer of the Cottonwood Community Center. Jackie loved to travel. She was a friendly person who knew lots of people.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Markwell Funeral Home with Larry Abraham officiating. Burial will follow in the Butternut Cemetery, Martinsville, IL. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. on Thursday morning prior to the service at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.
