Helen Elizabeth (Strange) Wade

Helen Elizabeth (Strange) Chapman Wade, age 91, of Casey, IL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at Bickford Memory Care in Crawfordsville, IN. She was born on January 1, 1931, the daughter of Elsworth “Wash” Strange and Stella Pearl (Yelton) Strange in Hazel Dell, IL.

Helen is survived by her husband, James Eugene Wade of St. Cloud, FL; son and daughter in law, James and Carolyn Chapman of Crawfordsville, IN; brother, Kenneth Strange and wife Hazel of San Antonio, TX; grandson, Tristen Chapman and wife Sara of Crawfordsville, IN; great grandchildren, Bentley, Keelie, and Parker Chapman; many in laws; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Edith Brandenburg; and brothers, Charles Strange, John Strange, and Donald Strange.

Helen was a 1949 graduate of Casey High School. She was secretary at Crawford County State Bank in Robinson, IL. She retired from Marathon Oil Company in Bridgeport, IL where she was payroll clerk and made many lifelong friends. Helen was a talented vocalist and performed at many local functions in the Crawford County area. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandma. She will be missed by all who’s lives she touched.

Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at the Hazel Dell South Cemetery in Hazel Dell, IL with Pastor Rick Emrich officiating.
