Gary Wayne Miller Jr.

Gary Wayne Miller Jr., age 52, of Rogers, AR formerly of Casey, IL died unexpectedly on Monday, February 7, 2022 while on vacation in Key West, FL.  He was born on April 19, 1969 in Terre Haute, IN the son of Gary Wayne Miller and Margaret Ann “Maggie” McCrory Miller.  On September 3, 2001, he married Kerri Cappetta in Jamaica.

Survivors include his wife, Kerri Miller of Rogers, AR; daughter, Karis Miller of Rogers, AR; stepson, Colton Cappetta (Amy) of Rogers, AR; his mother and stepfather, Maggie and Keith Wattleworth of Yale, IL; sisters, Stephanie Cox (Ron) of Casey, IL and Kendra Birchfield (Steve) of Casey, IL; stepsisters, Cheryl Brown (Roger) of Casey, IL and Carol Collins (Mike) of Chicago, IL; nieces Natasha Young of Casey, IL, Caitlyn Deig (Spencer) of Germantown, TN, Victoria Cox of Casey, IL, MacKenzie Sanders of Casey, IL, Briana Sanders of Casey, IL, and Peyton Birchfield of Casey, IL; nephew, Aiden Birchfield of Hutsonville, IL; great niece, Evelyn Young of Casey, IL; great nephew, Hamilton Young of Casey, IL; uncles and aunts, Ronald Miller (Linda) of FL; Jim McCrory of Yale, IL, Shirley Huisinga (Dale) of Casey, IL, and Barbara Boyer (Mike) of Vincennes, IN; many cousins, classmates, and friends.  He was preceded in death by his father, Gary W. Miller; grandparents, Wilma and Winfield Miller and Leonard and Cleda McCrory; aunt, Joan Swick; and uncle, Jim Swick.

Gary was a 1987 graduate of Casey High School. He graduated from the University of Missouri – Rolla in 1992. He began working for Action Stainless in 2000 and had just been named President of the corporation. Gary had a zest for life and enjoyed every moment he had with his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and basketball which he played every chance he had.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Casey First Baptist Church with Pastor Jon McDonald and Pastor Tom Marsh officiating.  Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. prior to the service on Tuesday at Casey First Baptist Church, 101 E. Alabama St., Casey, IL. (Per CDC Guidelines indoor masks and face coverings are required regardless of vaccination status in the facility.  Attendees should also practice social distancing.)
