Everett Eugene Brock, 56, of Knoxville, TN; formerly of Casey and Martinsville, IL passed away at 10:15 a.m. of Thursday, June 2, 2016 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. He was born on July 16, 1959 in Indianapolis, IN; the son of Dewey Gordon Brock, Sr. and Christine LaRae Southard Brock Shanks.
Everett is survived by sisters: Susann Shanks and Fiancé Dave Stewart of Terre Haute, IN; Susie Brock James and husband Jim of Indianapolis, IN; brother, Bobby Gordon McKinzie of Indianapolis, IN; and stepfather, Clifford Shanks of Martinsville, IL. Nephews; Floyd Brock, Jr., Cody Brock, Matt Christ and niece, Brittni Christ. He is preceded by his parents and brothers, Dewey Brock, Jr., and Floyd Brock, Sr.
He attended Martinsville High School before entering into the Navy. Everett was an avid Tennessee Vols and St. Louis Cardinals fan. Besides his family he leaves behind his beloved dog and companion "Baby" as well as his loyal friends and neighbors in TN; Tony Foster, Loni Jones and Richard Gettis.
Funeral Services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at the Markwell Funeral Home in Casey, IL with Rev. Gene Southard officiating. Burial will follow at Washington Street Cemetery in Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Markwell Funeral Home. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Casey VFW and the Hazel Dell and Martinsville American Legions.
