Effie Jane Wallace

Effie Jane Wallace, age 97, of Martinsville, IL passed away at 7:56 a.m. on Friday, December 4, 2020 at Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care, Terre Haute, IN.  She was born October 20, 1923 in Anderson Township, Clark County, IL, the daughter, of Silas Sylvester Chambers and Lucy Carpenter Chambers.  On January 21, 1945 she married Ernest Leroy Wallace in Martinsville, IL; he passed away on September 29, 1999.

Survivors include her children, Harold F. Wallace (Marion) of Leesburg, FL; Glenn F. Wallace (Mirla) of Hinton, OK; Lucy Johnson (Johnnie) of Martinsville, IL; daughter in law, Karen Wallace of Martinsville, IL; twelve grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, six step grandchildren, two step great grandchildren and four step great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Ernest E. Wallace; brothers, Harold Chambers and Silas Dean Chambers; sisters, Emma Chambers and Goldie Patteson; granddaughter, Christy Rae Johnson and great granddaughter, Emma Jane Johnson.

Effie attended Choctaw Schools.  She was a faithful member of Freedom Baptist Church in rural Martinsville, IL.

Graveside services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Auburn Cemetery, Clark Center, IL with Rev. Marvin Oakley and Rev. Keith Wallace officiating.
