Edward Jene Simpson

Edward Jene Simpson, age 82, of Terre Haute, IN formerly of Casey, IL passed away at 11:40 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 in Union Hospital, Terre Haute, IN.  He was born May 13, 1940 in Casey, IL the son of Raymond Herschel Simpson and Lulu Fern Deverick Simpson.  On December 6, 2002 he married Judith A. Meeks in Texas. 

Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Judy Simpson of Terre Haute, IN; children, Don Daniel (Mindy) of Somerset, KY; Michael Simpson (Deanna) of Manchester, MO; Toby Simpson (Nancy) of Greenfield, IN; Steven Daniel (Teresa) of Terre Haute, IN and Karla Eller (Jeff) of Terre Haute, IN; sisters, Rosie Walters of Charleston, IL; Donna Lovell (Don) of Casey, IL; Judy Gowin of Casey, IL and Kathie Hicks (Lewis) of Casey, IL; eleven grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Patty Tipsword Simpson and brothers, Jim Simpson and Jack Simpson.

Edward was a 1958 graduate of Casey High School.  He was employed as a welder for Trailmobile in Charleston, IL for over twenty nine years.  Edward was a member of Northside Church of Christ in Terre Haute, IN.  He enjoyed woodworking, mushroom hunting and reading. 

Graveside services and burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at Mount Cemetery, south of Casey, IL with Mike Ferris officiating.  Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to the service on Tuesday at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Northside Church of Christ, 1356 Fifth Ave., Terre Haute, IN 47807.
