Dennis Lamont Davis

Dennis Lamont Davis, age 78, of Martinsville, IL passed away at 12:32 a.m. on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at his home.  He was born January 28, 1942 in Martinsville, IL the son of Ralph E. “Abe” Davis and Hazel Irene Inman Davis.  On July 30, 1960 he married Peggy A. Walters in Casey, IL.

Survivors include his wife of sixty years, Peggy Davis of Martinsville, IL; sons, Denny Joe Davis of Martinsville, IL and Rick Allen Davis (Carrie) of Casey, IL; brother, Don Davis of Casey, IL; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and two on the way and many nephews and nieces.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Steve Davis; sister, Sharon Davis and daughter, Misty Herrick.

At his request a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Dennis worked for Trailmobile in Charleston, IL for over 25 years as a material handler and welder.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.  Dennis always had a smile, a wonderful sense of humor, a warm heart and always made everyone feel welcome.  He loved teaching, mentoring and spending time with his grandchildren.  His greatest love was for Jesus.
