Debra Sue "Debi" (Rhoades) Sinclair

Debra Sue “Debi” (Rhoades) Sinclair, age 71, of Casey, IL passed away at 5:35 a.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at her home.  She was born September 3, 1952 in Taylorville, IL, the daughter of Cecil Brummett Rhoades and Gladys Ruth (Wemple) Rhoades. On August 11, 1973 she married Keith Sinclair in Assumption, IL.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Keith Sinclair of Casey, IL; daughters, Kimberly Ault (Benjamin) of Round Lake, IL and Amy Hines of Casey, IL; grandchildren, Hadley Hines and Carter Ault; mother, Ruth Rhoades of Assumption, IL; sisters, Ramona Moore (Gary) of Maroa, IL and Kathy Coleman (Bill) of Cerro Gordo, IL; nephews, nieces, cousins, her church family and many friends.  She was preceded in death by her father, Cecil Rhoades.

Debi was a 1970 graduate of Assumption High School.  She continued her education and graduated from Lake Land College and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Eastern Illinois University in 1979 and her Masters of Education degree from Eastern Illinois University in 1984.  Debi retired from Casey Westfield High School after teaching special education for 30 years.

Debi was a faithful member of Casey First Christian Church, where she served as an elder.  She served on the Casey Library Board for many years.  Debi enjoyed exercising, reading and spending time with her family.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Casey First Christian Church with Pastor Adam Solorio officiating.  Burial will follow in Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 26, 2024 at Casey First Christian Church, 200 SE Eighth St., Casey, IL.
