Deborah Dee Zellers Obituary

Deborah Dee Zellers, age 75, of Martinsville, IL passed away at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born October 23, 1944 in Casey, IL the daughter of Rubert Rex “Bill” Darling and Ruth Gust Ruffner. On October 23, 1962 she married Jerry Mark Zellers in Casey, IL; he passed away on May 19, 2013.

Survivors include her daughter, Barb Zellers of Martinsville, IL; son, Robert “Bob” Zellers (Angela) of Casey, IL; granddaughters, Jessica Bruner (Kendal) of Edgewood, IL; Shelby Zellers of Casey, IL and Amilynn Zellers of Casey, IL; siblings, Darol “Corky” Ruffner of CA; Mike Ruffner of CA; Tex Darling of Mattoon, IL; Diana Redman of Westfield, IL; Misty Murrey of Terre Haute, IN; Marsha Orrell of Clearwater, FL and Tawni Cottrill of Kansas, IL, extended family and friends and her furry friends, Patrick and Batman. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill Darling and Ruth Nelson, her husband of 50 years, Jerry M. Zellers and her brother, Charles Cottrill.

Debbie was employed by the United States Postal Service, retiring as Post Master. Debbie loved being outdoors working in her flower beds and moving rocks but most of all she loved spending time with her grandkids and attending all of their functions. Debbie enjoyed genealogy and spent countless hours updating local cemetery information.

Due to current social restrictions and our concern for family and friends services in honor of Deborah will be private. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Martinsville, IL. A public drive through visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. on Monday, July 27, 2020 at Martinsville Bible Church.
